Suzuki Auto Sales on Track for Another Record Year in 2007

• American Suzuki closes in on second consecutive year of 100,000-plus vehicle sales
• Popular Suzuki SX4 models lead upward year-end sales momentum

BREA, Calif., Dec. 3, 2007 – American Suzuki Motor Corp. today announced automobile sales of 5,987 units in November, achieving the second-best November sales volume in company history. Year-to-date sales stand at 93,673 vehicles, maintaining the company’s pace for its fourth consecutive year-over-year sales increase and second successive year of 100,000-plus units sold in the U.S.

Suzuki Auto’s upward sales momentum remains rooted in its right-sized product line. November sales were lifted by the Suzuki SX4 models, including the media acclaimed five-door SX4 Crossover and the all-new four-door SX4 Sport, which began arriving in dealer showrooms in September. November sales of the SX4 models totaled 1,664 units, while Suzuki’s XL7 midsize crossover SUV posted a notable 162 percent increase.

“With the growing popularity of SX4 Crossover and SX4 Sport, more consumers are adding Suzuki’s stylish and versatile vehicles to their shopping lists,” said Mark Harano, president of American Suzuki Automotive Operations. “We look forward to a strong finish as we close the year and hope to achieve greater success next year.”

Next NSXext revealed at Detroit show

Honda’s next supercar will not be mid-engined if this show-stealing concept coupe is anything to go by, writes Dave Moore. To get cut-through among the dozen-plus concept coupes on display at Detroit last week, you really did have to come up with something special. It seemed that just about everybody had something close-coupled and muscular on display, but Honda’s US luxury arm, Acura, managed to attract most attention with what it messily labels its Advanced Sports Car Concept , or ASCC for short. While Honda will not confirm that the ASCC is a replacement for the much- loved but slow-selling NSX , it has put on record that the front-engined show car marks a preview of the design direction for that car’s successor. It is expected that the Tokyo Motor Show in October this year will mark the production debut of the actual NSX replacement. The concept is designed to incorporate a powerful front- mounted, V-10 engine and a new high-performance, rear- wheel-drive based version of the H...
