Nissan will launch a special version of the 150PS 2.0dCi X-Trail known as ‘Arctix Sports Adventure’ providing additional specifications and automatic transmission for a price close to the standard manual version.

  • ARCTIX eXpedition 150PS 2.0dCi automatic or 173 manual £22,995 (OTR) - eXtreme roof rails and lamps with snowstorm side steps, satellite navigation and colour rear view camera
  • On sale now with deliveries expected early January
With the winter ski season just about upon us, Nissan is providing the perfect travel partner in the form of a Nissan X-Trail Arctix. Powered by a fuel efficient 150PS 2.0dCi engine through a 6 speed automatic gearbox the vehicle is the ideal long distance traveller.

Should the weather conditions deteriorate the all-mode-i 4x4 drive system is designed to keep you sure footed to the road. If visibility is poor switch on the front fog lamps and eXtreme roof rail lamps, whilst on full beam, and see the road ahead light up. Uphill starts, greater than 10 degrees, are assisted by the brakes being applied for a short while after releasing the brake pedal and if the descent gets a bit steep, then the downhill drive support will ease you down gently and safely at no more than 4mph. Cruise control will make motorways a pleasure and once at your destination, the black and silver snowstorm side steps will aid your exit from the vehicle.

The boot has a wipe clean rear floor area along with 603 litres of storage space behind the rear seats, extending to 1773 litres with the rear seats folded down. Underneath is a double floor trunk section with a pull out drawer for storing smaller items. Longer items such as skis can be slotted through the ski hatch located between the rear Seat armrest. or, if preferred, clipped into an accessory ski roof rack* fitted between the standard eXtreme roof rails. Protecting the carpets are unique ARCTIX floor mats.

If you need help to get you to the European snow resorts then for a further £1000 the Nissan ‘Arctix eXpedition’ is equipped with Nissan’s acclaimed DVD navigation system. Covering 23 countries throughout Europe, it is the best way to eliminate any map reading arguments between driver and passenger. The system also incorporates a colour rear view camera to aid parking by showing a clear image of the view behind when reversing.

Arctix eXpedition comes with a choice of engines; the same 150PS 2.0dCi with automatic transmission or a higher powered 173PS 2.0dCi unit, linked with a manual gearbox, for the same price of £22,995 (OTR).

Trim and equipment details for Nissan Arctix and Nissan Arctix eXpedition X-Trail’s are similar to SPORT grade with 17 inch alloy wheels, panoramic sunroof, privacy glass, CD autochanger with 6 speakers, Bluetooth® phone integration, climate control air conditioning, automatic headlamps and rain sensing wipers. Upholstery is a charcoal coloured cloth weave whilst the exterior can be selected within a choice of six paint colours: Pearl White, Thundercloud, Twilight Grey, Ebisu Black, Atlas Blue and Chilli Pepper Red.

Vehicles will be available in showrooms from 2 January 2008 and come complete with Nissan’s peace of mind 3-year or 60,000 mile warranty (whichever comes first), 3-year paint and 12-year anti-corrosion warranty.

Next NSXext revealed at Detroit show

Honda’s next supercar will not be mid-engined if this show-stealing concept coupe is anything to go by, writes Dave Moore. To get cut-through among the dozen-plus concept coupes on display at Detroit last week, you really did have to come up with something special. It seemed that just about everybody had something close-coupled and muscular on display, but Honda’s US luxury arm, Acura, managed to attract most attention with what it messily labels its Advanced Sports Car Concept , or ASCC for short. While Honda will not confirm that the ASCC is a replacement for the much- loved but slow-selling NSX , it has put on record that the front-engined show car marks a preview of the design direction for that car’s successor. It is expected that the Tokyo Motor Show in October this year will mark the production debut of the actual NSX replacement. The concept is designed to incorporate a powerful front- mounted, V-10 engine and a new high-performance, rear- wheel-drive based version of the H

2007 Alpine Imprint RLS Demo Car based on Mercedes-Benz R500

Making Its Mark: The IMPRINT RLS The birth of the IMPRINT RLS marks the beginning of a new sonic era. While the exterior flaunts a sleek, elegant, one-of-a-kind style, the interior also houses the core Alpine IMPRINT sound technology – making its mark as the absolute show-stopping vehicle for 2007. The IMPRINT RLS by birthright started off as a Mercedes Benz R500 , and was slowly morphed into a car that transcends all laws of space and time. This futuristic concept-like car was brought to life by Alpine’s Advanced Application R&D team, Steve Brown, Gary Bell, Brent Davison with the help of Alpine Canada’s Glen Swackhamer and Rino Odorico. Breathing life into the RLS required a complete dismantling, relocating, building, and reinforcing experiment. Extreme modifications include gas and brake pedal relocation to allow the car to be driven from either front seat. To continue Alpine tradition of unconventional door and seat combinations, the IMPRINT RLS features a unique rotating assem

The Dangerous Ten

Jeremy Clarkson selected the ten most exciting/fastest cars he has ever thrown around a track... 10: Noble M12 GT0-3R 170mph "In a world obsessed with image, you can’t beat a Porsche. But in a world obsessed with time, a Porsche is a library. A TVR is the internet. And the Noble is broadband" 9: Aston Martin V8 Vantage 175mph. £51,500. "Thanks to heavy steering, heavy brakes and a heavy six-speed manual gearbox, they’ve made the syllabub-light body feel like a meat pie. The 911 is for nancy boy racing drivers. The Aston’s for gentleman thugs" 8: Chevrolet Corvette C6 180mph. £52,595. "This car has a head-up display, just like you get in an F-16 fighter. It’s fantastic. Whole bus queues are hidden behind the digital speed read-out, which is going to make for some wonderful insurance claims" 7: Vauxhall Monaro VXR 185mph. £36,995. "Think of it as an Aussie from the outback. Maybe he can’t quote Shakespeare. Maybe he’s never heard of Terence Conran.
