ScentAir, the world's leading provider of scent marketing solutions for the retail and hospitality industries, has taken the car air freshener to another level, recently unveiling an innovative scent-sampling vehicle dubbed the "VbubbleU."

Utilizing scent delivery techniques originally designed for military simulators, ScentAir created a one-of-a-kind interactive scent-sampling kiosk from a 1967 Volkswagen Microbus. Touch screen monitors replaced the windows and provided the interface for customers to sample scents that instantly emanated from "exhaust pipes" on the bus. Scents ranging from Apple Pie to White Gardenia could be sampled from a vast library of fragrances, as well as signature aromas created by ScentAir for brands such as Westin Hotels and Sony Style. Users could also create their own custom fragrances by blending an unlimited number of scents, all at the touch of a button.

"The VbubbleU was an opportunity for ScentAir to showcase our capabilities," said CEO David Van Epps. "Our goal was to create an interactive sensory experience that communicated the effectiveness of scent in influencing memory, emotions and buying behaviors. We realized we had hit the mark as people started sharing their personal stories and fond memories after encountering the bus."

The bus debuted at the GlobalShop Expo in Las Vegas where it joined previous innovations in the ScentAir exhibit. Four 1960's-era ball chairs offered a multi-sensory experience of sight, sound, touch and smell. Attendees were invited to don virtual reality glasses, which enabled them to view a short presentation about the company. At different times throughout the video, fragrance was released to complement the corresponding audio and visuals.

"We are always developing new and innovative ways to tell our story," said Murray Dameron, ScentAir's marketing manager. "The VW Microbus and Eero Aarnio ball chairs are both iconic symbols. Since ScentAir is all about linking memory to brands through the power of scent, they were a perfect fit. Attendees were astounded to touch a button and immediately sample nostalgic fragrances such as Play-Doh and Pink Bubblegum."

In addition to the overwhelming response from show attendees, ScentAir was awarded Best Booth in the Digital Store Pavilion of the Expo. The VbubbleU will soon begin a tour of regional malls, as it becomes a first-of-its-kind virtual fragrance store for ScentAir's new home fragrance system.

2007 Alpine Imprint RLS Demo Car based on Mercedes-Benz R500

Making Its Mark: The IMPRINT RLS The birth of the IMPRINT RLS marks the beginning of a new sonic era. While the exterior flaunts a sleek, elegant, one-of-a-kind style, the interior also houses the core Alpine IMPRINT sound technology – making its mark as the absolute show-stopping vehicle for 2007. The IMPRINT RLS by birthright started off as a Mercedes Benz R500 , and was slowly morphed into a car that transcends all laws of space and time. This futuristic concept-like car was brought to life by Alpine’s Advanced Application R&D team, Steve Brown, Gary Bell, Brent Davison with the help of Alpine Canada’s Glen Swackhamer and Rino Odorico. Breathing life into the RLS required a complete dismantling, relocating, building, and reinforcing experiment. Extreme modifications include gas and brake pedal relocation to allow the car to be driven from either front seat. To continue Alpine tradition of unconventional door and seat combinations, the IMPRINT RLS features a unique rotating assem
