Child Safety Network, a not-for-profit leader in providing education and resources to keep children safe worldwide, and the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame have teamed up to launch a one-of-a-kind vehicle with special "Basketball Court" graphics to be signed by many of the world's most famous basketball players.

The "Hall of Fame Car" will travel nationwide, collecting signatures of some of the greats in basketball, while providing important free safety resources and information to thousands of children and families.

Attorney and philanthropist, John M. O'Quinn, has provided the vehicle and will display it in his future automotive museum in Houston, Texas. Mr. O'Quinn is also donating over $800,000 to support the Child Safety Network's (CSN) mission to prevent child abuse, abduction, injury, and exploitation.

In regard to his roll in making this historic vehicle come to life, Mr. O'Quinn said: "What drives my interest is not just my love for the game of Basketball or my passion for assembling the world's greatest car collection; but to help alert parents to www.csn.org, where a parent can find free safety information for children K-12.

CSN provides free downloadable fingerprint cards, photo I.D. cards, DNA kits, and access to a National Database of registered sex offenders. This type of vital free service needs to be promoted."

Said John L. Doleva, President and CEO of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, "We are pleased to partner with CSN and utilize the excitement and passion for basketball to help keep children and families safer throughout the United States and around the world. Basketball is a sport for all ages and the Hall of Fame supports all facets of the game. We look forward to having many Hall of Famers and other basketball greats sign the vehicle and help promote the mission of CSN."

Said Ward Leber, CEO of the Child Safety Network: "We are very grateful to the players who will sign the vehicle; and to Mr. O'Quinn for his continued generosity."

About CSN: Since 1989 CSN has worked diligently to reduce the likelihood of children becoming victims of abuse, abduction, injury and exploitation (see www.csn.org). Over 300 U.S. representatives including the office of the president have endorsed the lifesaving efforts of CSN. Parents are invited to receive free safety information to help them raise safer, healthier children from www.csn.org.

About the Signature Series:

In 1998 Ward Leber, CEO of the Child Safety Network (CSN) began work to create specialized vehicles to be used as an attraction to help promote automotive and child safety. The first two vehicles were based on the world famous cartoon series Speed Racer; recently a celebrity Lamborghini Gallardo, another Signature Series vehicle received the signatures of over 33 celebrities and broke a world record for most money ever paid for a new Lamborghini. The Basketball Hall of Fame car announced today is the first in the sports line of signature series vehicles. Over 23 different themed vehicles are planned to tour the country and raise funds for CSN while providing free lifesaving information to all parents and kids who see the vehicles.

Nice car, but it doesn't say who the designer is. Oh yeah, thats me. www.paulisht.com is my website if you want to see my work. I'm not bragging, it's just that Ward Leber, CEO of Child Safety Network wants to take full credit for my work and not give credit where it's due. Yep, another Mr. CEO type thinks he's the shit cause he got investors to pay for it. He had nothing to do with the design or conceptualization process. He just rushed the work out and never gave me credit for what I did. I am not getting any recognition as an aritst and that really sucks. I don't want to be famous, just mentioned. Is that too much to ask, or is the common man not of worth anymore. Ward, screw you!

Volkswagen’s 50-state-compliant Jetta TDI will be among the cleanest diesels in the U.S. Previews Amid the looming hordes of European luxury automakers planning a North American compression-ignition invasion in the next couple years, humble Volkswagen has announced its plans to return the Jetta TDI to the diesel dogpile in the spring of 2008. Powered by a new 2.0-liter four-cylinder making 140 hp and 236 lb-ft of torque, and either a six-speed manual or DSG automated manual transmission, the 2008 Jetta TDI will be cleared for sale in all fifty states. Making Its Mark: The IMPRINT RLS The birth of the IMPRINT RLS marks the beginning of a new sonic era. This futuristic concept-like car was brought to life by Alpine’s Advanced Application R&D team, Steve Brown, Gary Bell, Brent Davison with the help of Alpine Canada’s Glen Swackhamer and Rino Odorico. Breathing life into the RLS required a complete dismantling, relocating, building, and reinforcing experiment.
