At a press conference in the Max Schmeling Halle in Berlin, SEAT and Shakira presented the prize in the fundraising campaign for Shakira’s charity foundation, Pies Descalzos (Bare Feet), a unique SEAT León appropriately called SEAT León Pies Descalzos.

“The support for Pies Descalzos is very welcome”, said Shakira during the press conference. “The need for education and proper nutrition for the children in my home country Colombia is very big and I trust that SEAT’s initiative will aid a lot.”

“By supporting Shakira’s charity foundation, we show our social responsibility”, commented Erich Schmitt, SEAT’s president. “We use our massive advertising campaign in all European countries that will be visited by Shakira to incorporate the possibility to donate money to Pies Descalzos.”

A unique car

The León Pies Descalzos was developed by SEAT in cooperation with Shakira. In the design process Shakira acted as a consultant on colors and materials. The standard SEAT León Cupra is now transformed into a totally unique car that one lucky person will be able to win in the drawing at the end of the fundraising campaign in May.

The most powerful road-going SEAT to date

The base for the car is the recently presented SEAT León Cupra. This car has already secured its place in the history books by being the Spanish brand’s most powerful road-going car to date. Developing 240 hp (177 kW) the new Cupra model integrates all of SEAT’s expertise in creating cars with an overtly sporty attitude.

This color can also be found on several details in the interior such as the dashboard and the back of the seats. Furthermore, the standard 18-inch wheels are painted black. The Pies Descalzos logotype (a bare foot) is integrated in the seats as well as in several places on the exterior.

Next NSXext revealed at Detroit show

Honda’s next supercar will not be mid-engined if this show-stealing concept coupe is anything to go by, writes Dave Moore. To get cut-through among the dozen-plus concept coupes on display at Detroit last week, you really did have to come up with something special. It seemed that just about everybody had something close-coupled and muscular on display, but Honda’s US luxury arm, Acura, managed to attract most attention with what it messily labels its Advanced Sports Car Concept , or ASCC for short. While Honda will not confirm that the ASCC is a replacement for the much- loved but slow-selling NSX , it has put on record that the front-engined show car marks a preview of the design direction for that car’s successor. It is expected that the Tokyo Motor Show in October this year will mark the production debut of the actual NSX replacement. The concept is designed to incorporate a powerful front- mounted, V-10 engine and a new high-performance, rear- wheel-drive based version of the H...
